Is Corruption a Greater Evil than Sin? Registered: Laurent Weill. The aim of this paper is to provide new evidence on the relation between religion and attitude toward corruption at the individual level. We use World Values Survey data covering 59 countries during the period to examine if religiosity and religious denominations are associated with attitude toward corruption. We find that religious people are more averse to corruption, supporting the view that religiosity favors honest behavior.

While each episode so far ends with a non-supernatural explanation being given for each occurrence, it is still explicitly implied that there actually is an ongoing spiritual battle between Heaven and Hell, and our heroes are smack dab in the middle of it. Kind of like real life. Speaking of which, if for nothing else, Evil deserves a watch for the moment in Episode 2 where David is trying to pray the Rosary before going to sleep while a demon real or imagined?

Given that great evil can be done in the name of the religion, it is also true that religion is also the source of the greatest good. Most of what we consider true, good and noble, and which undergirds our own society, is derived from the Judeo-Christian religion. But, alas, we are losing our own conviction in the truths of these principles, and it is generally when we are acting contrary to our principles that we act half-heartedly.
